Rumor Roundup: Damian Priest injury, Becky Lynch contract, Uncle Howdy group, more! – Selambe

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said he heard “the preliminary news wasn’t bad” as far as Damian Priest’s injury at Clash at the Castle. He did caution “nothing is conclusive” but it appears it isn’t as bad as initially feared, at the very least.
  • PW Insider Elite says that at least as of a couple days ago, Becky Lynch still hasn’t signed a new contract with WWE and is technically a free agent right now. There’s still belief she will re-sign.
  • To that end, Natalya is also yet to sign a new deal but negotiations are ongoing.
  • Fightful Select notes the Uncle Howdy group, which will be Bo Dallas, Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan, with more members possible, is likely to debut very soon. There are currently no plans for any supernatural elements for the group.
  • Jeff and Matt Hardy are currently working in TNA without contracts, says Fightful. There is optimism about joining the roster soon enough, however.
  • The morale at TNA is high right now, per PW Insider, who note the atmosphere backstage has been overwhelmingly positive with recent goings on with the promotion.
